The overall goals of the Administrative Core are to facilitate and integrate all ADRC components and activities by providing an environment conducive to successful development and advancement of basic and clinical AD-related research.
Allan Levey, MD, PhD
Allan I. Levey, M.D., Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Neurology, is a board-certified Neurologist. He holds joint faculty appointments in the Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Pharmacology. Dr. Levey also serves as Director of the Emory Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, and the Emory University Medical Scientist Training Program. He trained at the University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His research interests include the genetics and molecular pharmacology of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
Lary C. Walker, PhD
ADRC Associate Director
Lary C. Walker, PhD, is the Marie and E.R. Snelling Professor of Neurology, Research Professor of Neuropharmacology and Neurologic Disease at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, and Associate Director of the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research at Emory University. He has pioneered studies of how disease-related proteins are induced to misfold, aggregate and spread in the brain. He is a recipient of the 2014 MetLife Foundation Award for Medical Research and a 2016 Humboldt Foundation Research Award at the University of Tübingen (German).
